P1 Shooting Script

FADE IN:

EXT. MILE END STATION - GLOOMY EVENING

A teenage girl is walking home from school while talking on the phone to her friend. She comes out of Mile End Station. We can see her bubbly and loud personality as she talks; she is smiling and laughing while moving her hands in an expressive way. we hear the tapping of her heeled boots against the pavement.

                     KAMILLA:

         (in a low voice to friend on the phone)

                  You alright babes...

Suddenly, we hear an abnormal grunt, the young girl abruptly turns around but sees nothing, and a segment of her walking around East London’s expressive conventions initiate while a shadow is following her. She continues to walk but her smile has disappeared. she pulls her long black coat tighter against her body.

KAMILLA:

Hey listen I think someone is following me I swear,  they’ve been following me since I  left school

INT. TANIA’S BEDROOM

Tania is curling her hair while holding the phone to her ear using her shoulder

TANIA:

    (groans)

Well duh, you’re in the middle of the street of course there’s going to be someone there. It is 5 o’clock after all, people are coming back from work now. Seriously you overthink too much just chill hon.

EXT. KAMILLA IS WALKING, HOLDING PHONE CLOSE TO HER EAR

KAMILLA:

Yeah you’re probably right, I’m just being paranoid, but you can’t blame me now can you. common there’s so many situations that we see on the news about things like this.

INT. TANIA IS STILL CURLING HER HAIR AND TOUCHING HER LIPS

TANIA:

           (stretching the way she says anyways)

Anyway what were you saying about that Nyx lingerie collection

          

                            KAMILLA:

Oh, I was just saying how the colour of it is perfect, I love how smoothly you can apply it to the lips.

Silhouette of a strange figure comes into view

OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT OF GIRL, AUDIENCE CAN SEE THE GIRL FROM STALKERS PERSPECTIVE, THEY CAN SEE HER LONG BLACK COAT AND HER TALKING ON THE PHONE.

Heavy breathing of the stalker can be heard. suddenly there is a snap of a twig.

KAMILLA: (cont’d) (slowly turns her head, eyes widen jaw drops, whispers on the phone)

what the hell...

TANIA:

what?... kamz what is it?... hello?

KAMILLA:

There’s someone there Tania, it looks like a homeless man, he looks really rough and his eyes are huge and red... I think he’s following me, I noticed him back when I was walking down the road before, something doesn’t seem right.

CAMERA ZOOMS OUT AND TAKES US TO A WIDE SHOT OF THE STALKER FOLLOWING THE GIRL.

Both characters- kamilla and the stalker pick up there pace, however the stalker abruptly slows down while Tania is still walking quickly.

           KAMILLA: (cont’d)

           (whispers and says a prayer to god )

oh Allah, please protect me from anything bad and guide me home safely, amen.

Kamilla turns a corner and arrives underneath he building safely.

ESTABLISHING SHOT OF KAMILLA GETTING INTO THE LIFT IN HER BUILDING AND GOING UP TO HER HOUSE.

Relief can be seen on her face

CUT TO NEXT DAY

INT. KAMILLA’S HOUSE- MORNING

KAMILLA IS EATING BREAKFAST WHILE ON HER PHONE, SUDDENLY SHE LOOKS UP TO THE TV TO SEE THE NEWS WITH THE TITLE ’PSYCHO THAT ESCAPED ASYLUM HAS BEEN CAUGHT’. THE IMAGE IS OF THE STALKER- THE SAME ONE THAT WAS FOLLOWING HER LAST EVENING. KAMILLA PUTS THE VOLUME UP ON THE TV TO HEAR THE NEWS ANCHOR SAYING IF ANYONE HAS ANY ENQUIRIES TO CONTACT THE NUMBER THAT WAS ON THE SCREEN. KAMILLA IMIEDIATELY GRABS HER PHONE AND CALL THAT NUMBER IN A HASTE.

KAMILLA: (cont’d) (TAPS THE BACK OF HER PHONE WITH HER INDEX FINGER ANXIOUSLY)

Kamilla is pacing around the living room with her phone to her ear

H-HELLO

VOICE ON PHONE:

HELLO THIS IS THE CRIME LINE HOW MAY I HELP YOU?

KAMILLA:

I’m calling in regards to the psycho that was caught, I need to discuss something to the police about him.. h- he was following me last night.

VOICE ON PHONE:

ok ma’am let me put you through to the police line.

CUT TO NEXT SCENE IN POLICE STATION

EXT. POLICE STATION- LATE AFTERNOON

In one room there are two policemen, the stalker and kamilla. there is a screen separating kamilla and the stalker. the policemen are interrogating the stalker.

POLICEMAN:

so, mr renold, I’m going to ask this question very bluntly. if your motive was to kidnap young girls, then what stopped you from kidnapping miss.umi?

STALKER:

(in a low disgruntled voice) Well..yes that was my motive but in this case... I could not.

POLICEMAN:

what do you mean you could not? what makes this situation

any  different than the others?

STALKER:

              (scratching his head, and then suddenly looks coldly into the policeman’s eyes)

                               Well...

POLICEMAN:

(becomes agitated and pulls his collar, but sternly looks at the stalker)

       Well?

STALKER:

(slowly replies, accentuates his words )

CUT TO FLASHBACK IN STALKERS PERSPECTIVE

There is a flashback. this time the audience can see through stalkers perspective, he is walking in a fast pace but suddenly slows down when two white glowing figures appear by either side of kamilla, they appear to be angels, they are very luminous, and look as if they are floating

STALKER: (cont’d)

I was following her, and yes that indeed was my motive...young

girls. I had realised that she had caught on I was following her and therefore I HAD to catch her, but...s- suddenly two things, yes these two things appear by her side, they look like ghosts or maybe even angels. Something I had never in my life seen before and then I then knew, that this girl was not to be caught.

CUT TO PRESENT TIME

Kamilla and the policemen look at eachother in horror, however some kind of calm relief slowly washes over.

KAMILLA:

(whispers)

thank you Allah, for sending me protection.
